Below is a brief summary of the possible pathways for subspecialty certification eligibility in Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. A complete description of eligibility requirements can be found by clicking on the name of each pathway.
Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship program of at least 24 months in duration that is acceptable to the ABPM is required.
This pathway applies to all applicants who have not completed ACGME accredited fellowship training in Clinical Informatics.
*The Clinical Informatics Practice Pathway expires in 2022. Beginning in 2023, the exam will be available only for those physicians who have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Clinical Informatics. This subspecialty certifying exam will be given annually throughout this period.
