David W. Niebuhr, MD, MPH, MSc, represents the specialty of Public Health and General Preventive Medicine on the ABPM’s Board of Directors. He has served on the Board since 2019.
Dr. Niebuhr attended George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where he earned his medical degree, and Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and Hygiene to complete a Master of Public Health degree. Dr. Niebuhr also has a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Washington School Public Health and Community Medicine in Seattle. He completed a residency in Public Health at Madigan Army Medical Center and a Family Practice internship and residency at DeWitt Army Community Hospital. He served for thirty years in the U.S. Army Medical Department in a variety of assignments and locations.
Dr. Niebuhr is the Medical Officer in the Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Department of Health and Human Services and an adjunct Professor of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
He is certified by the ABPM in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine and the ABFM in Family Medicine. He is a Fellow in the ACPM and chairs its Science and Translation Committee.
