Michael F. Weaver, MD, DFASAM, is the Subspecialty At-Large Member of ABPM’s Board of Directors, a role he has filled since 2019. He is also the Sub-Board Chair for Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Weaver earned his medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, where he went on to complete the Hoff Fellowship in Substance Abuse Medicine.
Dr. Weaver is the Medical Director of the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction and a Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School, both of which are based at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is also a Medical Staff Physician at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and at the Harris County Psychiatric Center.
Dr. Weaver is certified by ABPM in Addiction Medicine.
