MOC is the board certification process for assessment of continuing competencies of physicians. The ABPM MOC program continues to evolve to meet American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) requirements. Click here for a schedule to complete MOC requirements.
The ABPM MOC program consists of four components. The requirements for each component for diplomates recertifying in 2022 and later are as follows:
● CI Only
● UHM Only
Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Examination
All ABPM diplomates must pass the cognitive exam prior to the expiration of their current certificate in order to recertify without a lapse.
The MOC examination is open to diplomates who are in the final three years of their certification cycle and diplomates with lifetime certification who choose to participate in the MOC process.
All specialty and subspecialty MOC exams are administered on each date.
You do NOT need to register for any of the concurrent society events in order to register or sit for the examination. The ABPM does not conduct any courses nor are we able to provide any information regarding the concurrent events; if you are interested in attending these events, please contact the associated society directly.
