    Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Eligibility Requirements

    ACGME-Accredited Fellowship Pathway
    Pathway PurposeThis pathway is intended for physicians who have completed a 12-month (or longer) ACGME-accredited Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine fellowship program.
    Board CertificationCurrent primary specialty certification through an ABMS Member Board, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
    American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) diplomates must apply for certification in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine through ABEM. More information can be found on the American Board of Emergency Medicine’s website.
    FellowshipCompletion of a 12-month (or longer) ACGME-accredited Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine fellowship program. Approximately 25% of the fellow’s time must have been spent in management of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine cases.

    Documents and Verifications

    Applicants should gather the following documents and verifications when they apply.

    ACGME-Accredited Fellowship Pathway
    CV/ResumeRequired only if applying between 24 months and seven years after completing fellowship.1
    Board Certification VerificationRequired; ABPM staff will verify current primary specialty certification.
    Fellowship VerificationApplicants must provide fellowship program information. ABPM will independently verify fellowship completion with the program director.
    Letters of ReferenceOne letter required only if applying between 24 months and seven years after completing fellowship.1
