Educational Resources to Support Addiction Medicine Practice

The American College of Academic Addiction Medicine (ACAAM) offers a range of educational resources designed to support clinicians interested in expanding their knowledge and clinical practice in addiction medicine. These offerings are developed by academic addiction medicine faculty and grounded in evidence-based practice, with flexible, self-paced options to meet the needs of physicians across specialties and career stages.

As part of its expanding portfolio, ACAAM is preparing to launch a new Learning Portal in early July. A featured offering will be the Addiction Medicine Learning & Assessment Bank, which includes 260 evidence-based questions mapped to ABPM Addiction Medicine core content areas. The resource supports both learning and self-assessment, with options to focus on specific content areas, select substances or addiction categories, and tailor the experience based on confidence level. Integrated analytics help learners identify strengths and gaps and track progress over time, and all questions include detailed explanations and references.

ACAAM also offers the National Addiction Medicine Didactic Curriculum, a series of fellowship-led educational sessions aligned with the ABPM exam blueprint and ACGME competencies. These sessions are available as bundled recordings, providing flexible, on-demand access to expert-led instruction across key addiction medicine topics.
